North Cyprus Transfer FAQ
Everything visitors ask us about airport transfers in Cyprus — prices, child seats, delayed flights, meeting your driver and crossing the border.
Booking your transfer
How do I book an airport transfer in North Cyprus?
Enter your pickup point, destination, date and passenger count on our booking form for an instant fixed price, then confirm online. You can also book by WhatsApp, phone or email if you prefer to speak to someone.
How far in advance should I book?
At least 24 hours ahead is ideal, and further in July and August when larger vehicles run short. Same-day bookings are often possible — message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you immediately what is available.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes. Contact us as early as you can with your booking reference and we will amend the time, date or vehicle. Cancellation terms are set out in our refund policy.
Should I book the return journey at the same time?
We recommend it. Return bookings cost less as a pair and, more importantly, guarantee a vehicle for early morning departures from places like Esentepe, İskele and Bafra where finding a car on the day is genuinely difficult.
Prices and payment
Are transfer prices per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. The price covers the whole car up to its capacity, so a group of four in a saloon pays the same total as a couple. This is why private transfers usually beat per-seat shuttles for anyone travelling together.
Is there a surcharge for night or holiday arrivals?
No. Prices are identical at 3am and at midday, on every day of the year. Most flights into Ercan land overnight, so a night premium would apply to the majority of arrivals.
What is included in the price?
Meet and greet inside arrivals, flight tracking, free waiting time, all luggage, child and booster seats, fuel, tolls, parking and door-to-door delivery to your exact address.
Which currencies do you accept?
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and you can pay in GBP, EUR, USD or Turkish lira. The converted amount is shown before you confirm. Card payments are processed through 3D Secure, and cash to the driver is also accepted.
At the airport
How do I find my driver at Ercan Airport?
Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a board with your name and the Carrington Transfer logo. You receive their name, photograph and mobile number by WhatsApp before you fly, so you can message them directly.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing changes for you. We track your flight number and adjust the pickup automatically, and waiting time is included in the fixed price at no extra charge.
How long will the driver wait?
Free waiting time is included after landing, which covers passport control and baggage reclaim in normal circumstances. If you are held up beyond that, message the driver — we do not start a meter.
Do you operate at night?
Yes, 24 hours a day, every day of the year, at the same prices. Night arrivals are the most common time to book a transfer because the airport taxi rank is unreliable at those hours.
Vehicles, luggage and children
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, free of charge — infant carriers, child seats and boosters. They are fitted before the vehicle leaves, so please request them when booking rather than on the day.
How much luggage can I bring?
As much as the vehicle holds, with no per-bag charge. Tell us the number and size of cases when booking so we send the right vehicle — four adults with four large suitcases need an estate or minibus, not a saloon.
Can you carry golf clubs, pushchairs or wheelchairs?
Yes, all at no extra cost. Golf clubs, pushchairs, travel cots and folding wheelchairs travel free — just tell us in advance so the vehicle has the space.
Do you have vehicles for large groups?
Yes. Minibuses seat up to sixteen passengers at a per-vehicle price, and for larger parties we run multiple vehicles from the same flight, meeting together inside arrivals.
Routes and the border
Can you take me from Larnaca Airport to North Cyprus?
Yes. We are licensed and insured for the crossing, and the same vehicle and driver take you from Larnaca arrivals to your door in the north. Many rank taxis at Larnaca cannot cross, which is why this route should always be pre-booked.
Is the border crossing complicated?
No. Crossings have been open to travellers since 2003 and normally take a few minutes — your passport is checked and you drive on. There is no visa and no fee, and your driver handles the vehicle paperwork.
Do children need passports to cross?
Yes. Every passenger, including infants, needs a valid passport for the crossing between north and south. National ID cards are not sufficient for most nationalities.
Do you deliver to villas and apartment complexes?
Yes — transfers are door to door. Send the development name, block and apartment number, and a map pin if you have one, particularly in Esentepe, Çatalköy and Long Beach where lanes are often unnamed.
