Family Airport Transfers in North Cyprus

Family-sized transfer vehicle for North Cyprus airport transfers with child seats

Travelling to North Cyprus with children means a connecting flight, a late landing and a mountain road, usually in that order. A family airport transfer is the part of the journey you can make completely predictable — here is how to book one so it works.

Child seats are free, but they have to be requested

Every child seat and booster we fit is included in the transfer price — there is no separate charge for them on any route.

What we cannot do is produce one at the terminal. Seats are fitted before the vehicle leaves the depot, so the request has to be on the booking. Tell us the age and, for infants, the approximate weight of each child, and the right seat goes in the car.

  • Rear-facing infant carrier — from birth to around 13 kg.
  • Forward-facing child seat — roughly 9 months to 4 years.
  • Booster seat — roughly 4 to 12 years.
  • More than one seat per vehicle is fine; say how many when you book.

Count the luggage, not just the passengers

This is where family bookings most often go wrong. Two adults and two children are four passengers, which fits a saloon on paper — but four suitcases, a pushchair, a travel cot and four cabin bags do not fit in a saloon boot.

Tell us the number and size of cases as well as the number of people, and we will send a vehicle that actually holds them. An estate or a minibus costs a little more than a saloon and removes the possibility of standing in an airport car park at midnight discovering the boot is too small.

Pushchairs, travel cots and car seats you have brought yourself all travel free and do not count against the luggage allowance.

Night arrivals at Ercan, with children

Most flights into Ercan connect through Istanbul, and a large share land between eleven at night and four in the morning. With small children that is the whole reason to book a transfer rather than improvise.

The driver is inside the arrivals hall with a name board when you clear customs, so there is no queue and no negotiation with a tired toddler on your hip. The car is already loaded with the right seats. The address is already in the system, so nobody is reading a hotel booking off a phone at 2am.

And because we track the flight number, a three-hour delay changes nothing — the driver arrives when your plane does, and the waiting time costs nothing.

How long the drive really takes

Worth knowing before you promise anyone it is nearly over. From Ercan, Kyrenia is about thirty-five minutes and Nicosia twenty. Esentepe is forty-five minutes, İskele an hour, and Bafra an hour and a quarter.

From Larnaca, add roughly an hour to each of those, plus the border crossing — the Larnaca to Kyrenia transfer is about one hour forty-five in total. For a family with young children arriving at night, that difference is the strongest argument for paying more to fly into Ercan.

Drivers will stop on any route if someone needs to, and there is no charge for it.

Practical things worth doing

  • Book both legs at once — an early departure with children is not the moment to be finding a car.
  • Give the flight number so delays are tracked automatically.
  • Send a map pin for villas and apartment complexes; unnamed lanes are common in Esentepe, Çatalköy and Long Beach.
  • Keep one small bag of essentials accessible rather than in the boot.
  • Ask for the driver's WhatsApp before you fly — it is sent automatically, and it is reassuring to have.
  • Mention if you need a stop for supplies on the way; drivers will detour to a supermarket on request.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide child seats for airport transfers in North Cyprus?

Yes, free of charge on every route — infant carriers, child seats and boosters. They are fitted before the vehicle leaves, so request them when you book rather than on the day.

Is there an extra charge for a pushchair or travel cot?

No. Pushchairs, travel cots and your own car seats travel free and do not count against the luggage allowance.

What vehicle do I need for a family of four?

It depends on luggage rather than passengers. Four people with four large suitcases plus a pushchair need an estate or minibus, not a saloon. Tell us the case count when booking.

What happens if our flight is delayed at night?

Nothing changes. We track your flight number, the driver arrives when your plane lands, and waiting time is included at no extra cost — there is also no night surcharge.
