North Cyprus Airport Transfer

Iskele & Long Beach Transfer from the Airport

·7 min read·Updated
Long Beach at Iskele, North Cyprus, served by private airport transfers

İskele has grown faster than anywhere else in North Cyprus, and Long Beach behind it is now a wall of resort towers along several kilometres of sand. An Iskele transfer is an hour from Ercan — and the last five minutes, finding the right block, is the part worth getting right.

Iskele transfer times from each airport

FromDistance to İskele / Long BeachDrive time
Ercan Airport (ECN)75 km1 hour
Larnaca Airport (LCA)115 km1 hour 45 minutes
Paphos Airport (PFO)215 km2 hours 55 minutes
Famagusta (Gazimağusa)25 km25 minutes
Kyrenia (Girne)100 km1 hour 25 minutes

The Ercan to Iskele transfer runs east through Famagusta and then up the coast. It is a full hour, which is worth knowing if you land at two in the morning and were expecting the thirty-five minutes that gets quoted for Kyrenia.

Why Long Beach needs a door-to-door transfer

Long Beach is not a resort. It is several kilometres of coastline with dozens of separate developments strung along it — Caesar Resort, Royal Sun, Grand Sapphire and many more — each with multiple blocks, multiple entrances, and in several cases the same shop-front name on different sites a kilometre apart.

A transfer quoted to 'Long Beach' can therefore mean a drop at the main junction, followed by a long walk along an unlit coast road with suitcases while you work out which tower is yours.

Booking with the development name, the block letter and the apartment number solves this completely. Our drivers know these complexes and will take you to the correct entrance.

  • Give the development name, e.g. Caesar Resort, Royal Sun, Grand Sapphire.
  • Add the block letter or number and the apartment number.
  • Send a map pin if the owner or agent gave you one.
  • Say whether you are checking in at a reception or collecting keys from an agent — it can change where the driver stops.

What Iskele and Long Beach are actually like

The beach itself is the draw: a genuinely long run of sand, shallow and clean, with beach clubs and restaurants at intervals along it. Outside July and August it is quiet even in good weather.

The developments behind it are new and still growing, which means excellent pools and facilities alongside ongoing construction on neighbouring plots. İskele town proper, a few minutes inland, is an ordinary Cypriot town with a market and no tourism at all — worth walking into for a morning.

Boğaz and its fish restaurants are ten minutes north, and Famagusta with the Venetian walls and Salamis is twenty-five minutes south. Neither is walkable, so a car or pre-booked taxi is part of planning a stay here.

Iskele transfer prices

The Ercan to Iskele transfer sits in the extended price band — longer than the Kyrenia or Famagusta runs, shorter than Bafra or the Karpaz. As with every route, the price is per vehicle rather than per person, and it includes luggage, child seats, tolls, waiting time and delivery to your block.

Larnaca to Iskele sits higher again because of the distance and the border crossing at Beyarmudi, though it is one of the more efficient cross-border routes because the checkpoint is on the direct line of travel.

Booking the return from Long Beach

Departures from İskele mean an early start: an hour to Ercan plus check-in, so most morning flights need a pickup before 5am.

There is no meaningful taxi network on the coast road at that hour. Book the return transfer when you book the arrival — it costs less as a pair and it is the only reliable way to make an early flight from this part of the island.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the transfer from Ercan Airport to Long Beach?

About 1 hour for the 75 km journey east through Famagusta and up the coast to İskele. Larnaca to Long Beach is around 1 hour 45 minutes including the border crossing.

Will the driver take me to my specific block at Long Beach?

Yes, if you give the development name, block and apartment number when booking. Long Beach spans several kilometres and many complexes, so the exact block matters more here than almost anywhere else.

How far is Iskele from Famagusta?

About 25 km, or 25 minutes by car. Famagusta is the nearest full-sized city, with the Venetian walls and the Salamis ruins on the way.

Is there public transport to Long Beach from the airport?

No practical service. There is no direct bus from Ercan, and connections through Famagusta do not match flight times, so a private transfer is the realistic option.
